Mike Berean's journey to break the Guinness World Record for the Most Chest to Ground Burpees started early August after our Member Lynn Turk suggested to Mike: "This Army guy just broke the World Record for Burpees...are you going to let that stand?" At the time, Mike said sure and had no interest in this endeavor whatsoever! However, the more this 46-year-old Inactive US MARINE thought about it, the more it ate away at him until finally, he made a decision to get the job done. Once that decision was made, nothing was going to stand in his way. Mike is the epitome of persistence and discipline. He was looking for something to challenge his mind and body anyway, so the timing of it all was perfect.Mike set himself up a training and nutrition schedule, so he could steadily increase the number of burpees he was doing every week. During his five hours of training a day for the world record attempt, he bumped up his pace to 500 burpees an hour. Mike supplemented with Prestige Labs and Hammer Nutrition. He also planned his own nutrition throughout the entire process.Mike Berean was 46 years young when he broke this record.
His biggest why...to be an example that you to can push yourself beyond what you think you can do.
